Branching out!

I have been branching out in terms of crafting lately.  I used to just sew….but now I am playing with all kinds of other crafty things.   I have an obsession with scrap-booking paper packs…I LOVE them!  So every time I hit  the craft store  I grab one or two of them.  As you can imagine I have got quite the collection going on.  At first I was getting them to use in the making of glass tile pendents.  Then I bought some Mod Podge.  Can you see where this is going?  I heart me some Mod Podge…….and, so does my hubby.  We actually did a craft project together recently.  I think it is so awesome he likes to be crafty too.  How many of you ladies out there have a hubby that will craft with you?  Oh, and he knows how to sew too….lol.  Shhhhhh…… don’t tell him I told you!  He is also super good at building stuff.  He built my new desk in my craft are.  He re-purposed two doors to do so :)   My hero!!!  I finally got a picture of my new space to share.  Here is a sneak peak of my craft space, and some of the goodies I have been playing around with.

The cost of my new desk space was $32. All items were purchased from the local Habitat for Humanity Store.

2 doors, 8 legs,  some wood we had on hand, and whit paint…..wa-lah.

hairholderblog

I am super obsessed with these easy to make hair clips. Isn’t the holder ADORABLE too?! I found both tutorials on Trey & Lucy. Click HERE & HERE for the Easy Hairclips. Click HERE for the Hair clip holder.  I also found this tutorial on Paperseed for hair clips using alligator clips(next on my list).

SuperStarsBlog

This was a super fun project. It was cool to craft with my hubby.  We are both really pleased at how they came out.  This has opened the door to all of the possibilities there are when you involve Mod Podge.  I got the idea from Trey & Lucy.  But,hubs found these cardboard stars at Michael’s instead of using the metal ones.

Some of my scrapbook paper packs!  I like to use the papers to make these:

they are so fun to make.

Oh and check out one of the ruffle scarfs I made….sooo easy, and too darn cute.

What do you think?  I really like this color. I used the ribbed jersey cotton because it was 50% off.  I think it turned out well. 3 down and 8 to go! I even made a mini version for my daughter.

The next little task on my crafting agenda is to turn this tee:

into a cupcake applique tee using jersey knit scraps.

Using this tutorial I found last night from Grace Violet.

What kind of goodies have you been making, or want to make?  I love to see what people are doing!

Oh by the way, I apoligize for the crap-tastic pictures.  My camera SUCKS!! But, I have received my birthday present a month early……a Canon Rebel DSLR (used off of Ebay).  I am going to have to figure it out, and hopefully my photography pictures will vastly improve.  Also, if you haven’t already check out PICNIK the photo editor. As you can see I added text to my pics, and really had fun doing so.  You can too =)

Okay later peeps!

Make sure you get your craft on!!

Wow – you’re really making progress & even better you gave me a few extra ideas to add to my overzealous handmade list :) {my sis will love that ruffle scarf and I know just the $1.99 ribbed jersey I’m going to use} I started on some gifts for my toddlers last night {a felt train set} but ended up giving it to them when they woke up this morning.
