Scrap-tastic Giveaway!

Hello there bloggy friends! How the heck have you been? I have been a busy lady. We have moved back to Virginia, and are settling into our new house…yay! There are a lot of life changes going on with us. With moving, and then I am going back to work full time. Before I was a stay at home mom, I was a Dental Assistant/Receptionist. So I am going back into the Dental field. You have no idea how excited I am :) I still plan to presue my business, and will be listing new items in my shops in the months to come.  But my sewing time will be more limited then it was.  That said, I got rid of a TON of fabric prior to my move(I still kept a LOT). I am setting up my sewing/craft space this week.  I went thru a bunch of my fabric scraps, and split them up intp 5 one Gallon sized zip lock bags. I have decided to give these bags away..woohoo!  The scraps range in size, some are great for covering buttons and smaller projects, most others are larger.  I also have one bag specifically for kiddie fabric scraps.  If you are interested leave leave a comment. If you are interested in an extra entry Tweet about the giveaway or blog about it. Leave me a seperate comment letting me know you have done so. Five  winners will be chosen by random number generator a week from today!  If you enter more than once and your number is picked twice you will win 2 scrap bags :) In your comment tell me what you would make with the scraps? I am always interested in what people have to say =)

  1. I’d love to win some scraps! I have no idea what I would do with them… bean bags? patches on jeans? appliques? Who knows! lol

  2. Yay! Giveaway!! :) If I win I will probably make a small scrap project. Something like a makeup pouch perhaps? Or maybe a scrappy baby block? I guess it depends on the colors I end up with as to what I end up making :)

  3. Can I tell you how happy I am for you that you got your job. Tremendously happy! I’ve also been looking forward to hearing which fabric you picked for your quilt for the couch.

Anyway, Scrap fabric…You are so very generous. What would I do with it.. The question is what can’t you do with it. I’m a wannabe quilter and don’t have the finances to buy large amounts of fabric so I use my families clothes to practice with. Nothing goes to waste. I also make some dolls for my kid from Bit Of Whimsy Patterns and all the dolls are from shirts and clothes the kids and my husband have worn. Also, I’ve found tons of templates for needle holders, tampon holders, hair ties. and also using scrap fabric to glam up tacks you use to hold up notes..That one is my favorite. I’m teaching myself how to sew and use my sewing machine. So anything I can try I usually do. You know I’m gonna tweet about this! Good Luck finding new scrubs.

    :)

*HOPE I WIN!* Thanks for offering up these!

  33. I’d use the scraps as the backing of pinkeeps, tiny embroidered fobs & cushions, tiny doll clothes for my granddaughter’s mini dolls & animals, and to sew together to create cushion covers, purses, etc.

  34. Ummm lets see… I want to make a quilt with crazy blocks (paper piecing maybe) so thats what I would use all these scraps for! Yay! Thanks for doing a giveaway!

  35. Post Entry #2

I posted a link to your site on my blog, and spoke of this giveaway. I don’t want the kid’s scraps, rather the other scraps.

  36. HMMMM – I think I would most likely use them to make a bunch of fabric covered buttons to use on my bags :)

    Congrats on the new job!!!

    Karen

  37. OK Katherine, this is fun. To receive someone else’s scraps! I would cut as many as possible into 2.5 inch squares and sew up a Vintage Squares Baby Quilt. It is the neatest pattern! one of those that are quilted as you go(If you are interested, I can tell you how it’s done!). Thanks and congrats on your move!

  38. Congradulations on your move. I’ve just starting following you on twitter. I will retweet your giveaway. I would also like to win one of your give away bags. I am starting a scrap quilt because I am a beginner quilter. Have fun setting up your new sewing room and new job.

  39. I was given the pattern for a cute little credit card/money holder made from small pieces of material! So sweet, and such a good use of scraps.

  40. I’m like lots of others- teaching myself to sew, and (gulp) trying to learn to quilt :) I’d love these for piecing :)

  41. I’d also love these for making the dolls and animals that I make- Bit of Whimsy. You just need a little material, but variety is what makes them so stinkin’ cute :)

  42. And lastly, I would just love them to look at them. I have a very very small cloth collection- turns out, fabric is darn expensive, and getting a collection going takes a pretty penny :) - and get giddy just thinking about walking in my favorite cloth shoppe and looking at all the yummy prints :) . So I’d love to just look at all the fun designs, prints, and colors, and dream of all the fun things I am going to do with them :)
Thanks for your giveaway, and good luck with your job!

  43. Pick me! I’d make…oh I don’t know….something pretty!

  44. I’m not sure what I would make, but I would probably use them for applique projects.

    rsgrandinetti@yahoo.com

  45. Yay for scrappitos! I would probably use them for baby booties or kanzashi flowers.

  46. Oh.. and I’ve put a link to your blog on my blog… Thanks!

  47. i would use them for my business! i make posy pins (flower brooches) because they just take scraps. thanks for the giveaway!

  48. Congrats on moving and the new job!
I am big into making fabric flowers and patchwork cards lately. So, some of the scraps would definetly be used for that and maybe a scrappy check book cover.

  49. I would make head band and give them away at work to the ones with children. Piece them together and make a baby bid, or pocket on an apron, or cut out a shape to put on a baby top.

  50. I think I’d put them to use in pincushions and little pouches.
    Thanks for the giveaway!
    ~Jenny~

  51. I blogged about it here:
    http://www.petalzandfinz.com/2009/06/what-would-you-make.html

  52. What a great giveaway! I would use these to make fabric covered buttons for hair clips!!

  53. Please randomly pick me! I have become a fabric worm in recent years with the births of my 2 little ones. I am just learning to sew and look forward to the few moments I have to play around with a newly purchased embroidery machine. With your material, I can probably use them for applique or if they aren’t big enough I can monogram the fabric and make little covered ponytail holders for my girl!

  54. that’s really cool..the scraps look like you could use it on alot of things..I too found your blog through someone else’s blog! will definitely be visiting again..now subscribing to your feed also:)
