Here is my crayon roll tutorial. I know there are a ton of Crayon Roll Tutorials out there. Mine was made by taking bits and pieces from several rolls I have seen. I love these rolls. Kids love them too!! So here you go.
Vinyl Lined Crayon Roll Turorial
Supplies you will need:
2 coordinating fabrics
Iron on Vinyl
Interfacing/batting
Thread
Sewing needle
Button
Elastic Hair Tie
Iron/Ironing Board
Crayons

To begin you will need to cut 2 pieces of the outer fabric, 1 piece of the lining fabric, 1 piece of interfacing & 1 piece of the iron on vinyl. All measuring 5″ x 16.5″ .

Next take one of the outer pieces and fold in half to form your pocket piece. Press so you can see a crease line.

Following the manufacturers instructions iron the vinyl onto the front of the lining piece.

Place the lining piece facing up on top of the interfacing. The open up the pocket piece, and lay on top of the lining piece face down. Pin all three layers together.

At this point you will need to measure and mark your lines. The ends should be 1-1/4″. All of the other spaces should be 1″. Make your marks run from the bottom to the crease line.

Sew your marked lines. Again only up to the crease line. This will make you slots for the crayons.
Next, unpin and fold the top part of the pocket down. You now have invisible stitching.
Center your elastic loop in the center of the right side. Pin in place.

Place you outer piece of fabric facing down on top of the other piece. Pin in place.

Sew 1/4″ inseam around the roll leaving a 3″ opening on the left side of the roll.

Trim the corners & then turn right side out.
Press the outside and pocket. Be careful not to touch the vinyl with the iron.
Top stitch with a 1/8″ inseam all around the roll.
Place crayons inside slots & then roll it up keeping the loop on the outside.

Pull the loop just a tad & mark where you are going to place your button. I use a pin to mark it.

Sew your button on. Place the loop around the button & you are finished
