Snazzie Drawers Giveaway!!
This weeks Giveaway is from Snazzy Drawers.
Snazzy Drawers has the most ADORABLE PDF Patterns.
Snazzie Drawers was founded by Joy.
Here is a little background about Snazzie Drawers from the Joy herself.
“I started sewing when four 1/2 half year old daughter was a little over a year old. My husband was still in grad school and i coveted everything I saw in the local boutiques and online. My daughter had grown out of all of the shower gifts we had received and I had so many ideas for clothes I wanted to make for her. I talked my husband into getting me a sewing machine and he told me not to get my hopes up because it would take me a year to make a dress. Well since I a little stubborn, I proved that within 24 hours I had completed my first dress and discovered that sewing was what I was born to do! I have sewed almost everyday since! My business has evolved from custom clothing made for shop owners all over the world to a pattern design business, which allows me to design more. I have so many ideas and I am working on getting them into patterns. I am a stay at home mom now to two darling little angels, Ava,4, and AddiKate, 16 months. My four and a half year old is now learning to sew and LOVES appliqueing for her sister. My passion with my patterns is to make beautiful design easy and for any level of seamstress. I create all of my patterns with a beginner in mind and have dozens of photos in each one to bring clarity to each step.”
I love when people find that they were born to sew, and have a true passion for it!

Hedgehog Applique
Have you appliqued before? If you have, have you appliqued anything lately? I have! Woodland animals are very popular these days. It’s undeniable why…the cuteness!! I recently made a set of woodland animal glass tile pendants. Included in the set are an owl, deer, bird, and hedgehog. The hedgehog is just so cute. I HAD to make an appliqued tee from it. I searched the Internet high and low looking for a free hedgehog applique download with no luck. But I found a card with a hedgehog on it. So, I begged hubby to sketch it for me so it was big enough to use for an applique.
He obliged, and I made this!
I think it came out so cute.
Aside from the droopy nose..ha!
It was a really easy and fun project.
I used Amy Butler fabric for the body, and muslin for the face.
A ribbon rose, bead for the eye, and button nose were hand stitched on.
How would you like to make one of your own?
Click HERE and you can download the pattern for free
If you do use the pattern please link back, and show me what you did!
I also sketched a bird (myself) and will be trying that out next.
If it comes out cute I will definitely share.
Oh and a little shop update…
Some new colors for ruffle scarfs.
(which are light weight enough to wear through Spring)
Hopefully I will have some listed by the beginning of next week.
Winners of Izzy and Ivy Giveaway to be announced tomorrow.
Have a good night!!
Silk Flower Tutorial
These silk flowers are all over the web. I did not come up with the idea myself. But, I did figure out how to make them on my own. Do YOU want to learn? Of course you do. The flowers are so cute!
Silk Flower Tutorial
Supplies:
Silk or less expensive faux silk fabric
Beads
Scissors
Lighter
Thread
Glass of water (optional but advised)
How it’s done!
First thing you need to do is cut out 5-6 circles in several sizes.
You do not need to cut them into perfect circles.
Grab a circle and your lighter (and water in case you flower catches fire)
Hold the flower in the center
Begin the burn the edges
Continue turning the fabric in a circle, not staying in one spot too long.
The edges will start to curl.
Do this to all of the circles.
The next thing you want to do is stack them, from biggest to smallest.
Get you needle, thread, and beads.
Coming from the underside of the flower stitch a small X
Then come up from the bottom again, and start stitching your beads in place.
You should now have a purdy flower.
You can hot glue it to an alligator clip, or stitch it to a headband.
(sorry about the blurry pic, my model kept moving)
You can attach it to a shirt even.
The embellishment possibilities are endless!
